Jeppe Nevers is Professor of Modern History at the University of Southern Denmark. He has written on a range of topics in modern Danish and European history, including the history of democracy, varieties of liberalism, and the role of business, and he is currently working on Danish capitalism since the 1930s (with Per Boje). Trained as a historian at the University of Southern Denmark, he has been a visitor at the University of Freiburg, at Harvard University, and most recently at the University of Oxford (Jesus College). He currently serves as Director of the Centre for Maritime and Business History at the University of Southern Denmark, and he is an associated researcher in Oxford’s Global History of Capitalism project.
In the Neoliberalism in the Nordics-project, he will be working on neoliberalism from a business history perspective. Together with other researchers in the group, he will be addressing questions such as: What kind of neoliberalism is it that emerges if we look at it from the perspective of business actors? How did business interest organizations and individual business actors react to neoliberalism? What narratives were crafted, and what strategies were followed?
